Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Märtner
Founder & Managing Director
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Märtner founded M&S Umweltprojekt GmbH in 1991 and has been its managing partner ever since. With a degree in engineering education and a doctorate in materials science from the TU Dresden, he brings extensive specialist knowledge to the company's management. His professional career began with an apprenticeship in steel construction and led him through his studies to founding the company. Through further professional qualifications, particularly in subsoil, landfill and hydraulic engineering, he is deeply specialized and a key manager in the company.
As managing director, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Märtner is responsible for the technical management and management of projects in the areas of environmental protection, landfill construction and hydraulic engineering. His vision for M&S Umweltprojekt GmbH is to make the company economically successful, innovative and reliable for clients, attractive for employees and sustainably positive for the environment. In doing so, he would like to promote regional social development.
He draws his personal motivation from the entrepreneurial freedom and responsibility that his position brings with it. In his private life he is active in sports, loves handball and mountain climbing and feels a particular connection to the Vogtland and Lithuania. His motto is: "If M&S Umweltprojekt GmbH is successful, everyone benefits!"
M. Sc. Christoph Märtner
Authorized Officer
Christoph Märtner built his career from scratch at M&S Umweltprojekt GmbH. He started in the Dresden branch and worked his way up to branch manager through commitment and competence. In this role, he demonstrated his skills in managing projects and leading the team. His deep understanding of the operational business and his in-depth expertise in the field of liquid soil and hydrology ultimately led to his appointment to the management team.
Today, as an authorized officer, he has greater responsibility and is responsible for the entire operational business, including work, finance and personnel planning. Through his continuous commitment, Christoph Märtner has taken on a central role in the company, always with the aim of developing customer-oriented and environmentally friendly solutions.
With his enthusiasm for handball, Christoph Märtner embodies determination and team spirit both professionally and privately. These qualities drive him to develop innovative solutions and to actively shape the future.
Dipl.-Ing. Ralf Witz

Ralf Witz has been part of the company since M&S Umweltprojekt GmbH was founded in 1991. After training in steel construction and studying engineering at what is now the TU Cottbus, he started as a project engineer and designer at Stahlbau Plauen. When he moved to M&S, he quickly established himself as an indispensable manager and was appointed authorized signatory in 1994.
With a degree in civil engineering and additional qualifications in landfill and hydraulic engineering, Ralf Witz brings extensive expertise to the areas of civil engineering and radiation protection. As a member of the management team, he now heads the technical department, building management and the vehicle fleet. He is driven by his joy in his work and his desire to promote continuity and stability in the company.
In his free time he enjoys travelling and is a passionate table tennis player. His motto is: "Don't talk, do."
Dipl.-Wi.-Ing Frederik Koffent
Member of the Management Board
Frederik Koffent has been part of M&S Umweltprojekt GmbH for many years and embodies the combination of technical expertise and business acumen. His journey began during his studies in industrial engineering in Dresden, when he gained his first insights into the company's operations through an internship. Enthralled by the combination of various engineering disciplines and environmental protection, he continued his work as a student trainee, gaining valuable experience in landscape planning and environmental impact assessments. After graduating, he gradually assumed increasing responsibility in day-to-day operations.
His particular interest lies in the sustainable connection of technology, business and environmental protection – always with the aim of creating practical solutions for real challenges.
As a member of the management board, Frederik Koffent represents a new generation at M&S: committed, forward-thinking, and dedicated to the responsible development of the company. His motivation stems from actively shaping the future – in line with the company motto: "Future in focus, implemented holistically."
